God Delights in Helping Us

God Delights in Helping Us

Scripture —
Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the LORD his God, the Maker of heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them—
the LORD, who remains faithful forever.
Psalm 146: 5-6
Observation –
There is the promise of blessing for the one who puts their trust and hope in God. God wants to help us every day and as we put our hope in Him and draw close to Him for direction, He will always be faithful to lead us, guide us and strengthen us to do the right thing.
God made the heavens, the earth, and the sea, and everything in them, and the suggestion here is that if He can do that, He is certainly faithful forever to His Word to bless us as we trust in Him and go His way each day. There are many who put their hope and confidence in themselves and their own schemes rather than trusting and leaning on God. We need to be careful to surrender each day and each hour to Him so that we don’t miss out on His incredible blessings and wisdom.

Application –
It is good to declare again today that my hope and my trust is in the living God. He is the one who brings blessing, confidence and faith in every situation. There is a battle every day to not lean on my own experience or wisdom, but to lean into Him and to hear His voice and trust in Him.
Life can get very busy, and it is a good thing to quiet my heart at the beginning of the day to hear His voice, to allow Him to remind me that He is the one who brings life, growth and strength to every situation. I set my heart to hope in Him today, to hear His voice and move in concert with His great plan. He loves me so much that He wants to offer His help to me this day.

Prayer –
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for your faithfulness to bless and empower me with your strength for each day. Lord Jesus, fill me with your Holy Spirit and help me to recognize your voice and the way You want to help me and guide me this day. I set my heart to follow you closely and to be a blessing to the people in my life.
