21 Jul God will Reward Your Perseverance
Brothers, as an example of patience in the face of suffering, take the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord. As you know, we consider blessed those who have persevered. You have heard of Job’s perseverance and have seen what the Lord finally brought about. The Lord is full of compassion and mercy. James 5: 10-11
There’s a call here to persevere in the face of trouble and adversity. James uses the prophets of old as an example. They put up with anything and everything and refused to quit on what God had called them to. It is a gift to know that God has given us the power to stay the course and not give up in doing the right thing.
We can be confident that God hears our prayers and sees our obedience to Him. He cares deeply for you and me and he cares right down to the last detail. The important thing is to be faithful to honor God in all things and know that He will be faithful to reward our perseverance and faithfulness to His word and His will.
In the middle of summer, it can be a challenging time for any pastor. It’s in these days that church attendance and offerings can tend to be down and it may not seem like much is happening. With the nice weather and people on vacation, there are a lot of factors that play into the continuing life of the church. But it is important to keep doing the things God has called me to do in loving people, praying for people and offering the teaching of God’s Word as a way of bringing life changing power to people’s lives.
We just experienced a great week of Vacation Bible School where we were able to teach and mentor over 100 children. I am grateful to pastor a church where we have many volunteers and leaders who help me in ministry to fulfill God’s call on this church and in the lives of people in the community. I am inspired in these days to keep praying and reaching out to people who need the touch of God in their lives.
Thank You, Lord for helping me to persevere in challenging times. Lord Jesus fill me with your Spirit and help me to fulfill your calling on my life. I choose to keep doing the things you’ve called me to do, knowing that You will be faithful to honor my efforts as I obey You in all things.
