31 Mar Respond to the Open Doors God Gives You
Scripture — But I will stay on at Ephesus until Pentecost, because a great door for effective work has opened to me, and there are many who oppose me. 1 Corinthians 16: 8-9
The Apostle Paul was keen on hearing God’s voice and responding to the open doors that God was opening for him on his missionary travels. What is true for Paul is also true for us. When we respond to Jesus and live for Him, we realize that He is faithful to open doors all around us so that we can be effective in bringing many to know our Lord Jesus Christ.
What open doors is God providing for you to minister His love and His truth to people who need to hear? There are open doors of ministry in our homes with our families, open doors in the workplace, and in our neighborhoods. Let’s be sensitive to God’s leading as we seek to accurately represent the love of God to our world. Paul also writes that there are many who oppose him. That will also be true for you and me as we seek to do God’s will. Many will try to oppose you because of the intersection of Light with darkness. Jesus said that many would love their own darkness instead of stepping into the Light and responding to the Light of the World. We need to press through the opposition and love people enough to tell others of God’s love.
I am inspired to keep reaching out to my friends and neighbors in this season to show them the kind of unconditional love that comes from the heart of God. We need to be wise in our conversations with people because there are some who just need to be loved and prayed for. But sooner or later, there will be a time when God wants us to open our mouths to speak about Him and the great things He has done for us.
God is always able to bring good out of the tests and trials of this life. And if we’ll be listening for His voice, He always shows us an open door of ministry to draw people closer to Him.
Thank You, God for your faithfulness in tough times. I know there are many who are going through difficult times right now, and I ask that you give me open doors of ministry to friends and family so that I can be a minister of your grace and your love. Come Lord Jesus and fill me with your Spirit. Help me to hear your voice today and help me to be a source of encouragement to many. Give me the words to say this week that will help people draw close to You and trust in You with their lives.
