17 Mar God will Give Wisdom to those who Listen
Scripture — However, as it is written: “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him”— but God has revealed it to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the man’s spirit within him? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us. 1 Corinthians 2: 9-12
No one knows for sure what God has prepared for those who love him both in this life and in heaven. We can be assured that heaven will be even greater than our greatest expectations, but even in this life, there are so many things that our God longs for us to experience. This scripture in 1 Corinthians is telling us there are many insights and points of practical wisdom that God wants to reveal to us every day which will help us with our daily challenges.
I don’t want to miss out on anything that God has prepared for me. There are many blessings that people miss out on because they don’t listen to God. Pride can get in the way for so many, and often the arrogance of the selfish nature will blind people from hearing anything that God is trying to say. Sometimes people will be bitter at God and take offense to what God is trying to say and do in their lives. A rebellious heart will short-circuit the ability to hear God every time. It is so important to come to God humbly and allow Him to speak to us and submit to what He is saying.
My greatest desire in life is to hear God’s voice and please Him through my service to Him and His kingdom. This life has so many distractions and enticing illusions that have the potential to deceive people into going the wrong way. My heart is to bring as many people as possible into a relationship with Jesus.
It is so easy to live each day with the perspective of just seeing what is in front of us and not seeing the things God wants us to see. As we come into a relationship with Jesus, our spirit comes alive and we are able to see what God wants for us as we open our hearts to the Spirit of God. I am inspired by this section of scripture to be all the more sensitive to hearing the voice of the Lord and heeding His direction for my life.
Thank You, Lord for reminding my of your great love for me today. You have great things in store for those who will love You and listen to your voice. Thank You for revealing your will to me by the power of your Holy Spirit. Come Lord Jesus and fill me with your love and your Spirit. You are faithful to lead me by your Spirit so that I can be a blessing to the people You want me to serve. Help me to be an effective servant who will demonstrate your love each day.
