18 Jan God Wants to Answer Your Prayers
And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?” Luke 18:7-8
Jesus shares with the disciples the parable of the persistent widow to show them that they should always pray and not give up. Jesus also wants us to know that the Father’s heart is to hear our prayers and He will be faithful to answer.
Jesus is talking about Himself when he says, ‘when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?’ These words can inspire every one of us to be faithful to come to Him in prayer so that when He does return for us, he will find great faith being exercised. Are there some goals and people and needs in people’s lives that God wants you to be praying for these days?
As I read these words from Jesus, I hear Him saying to me, ‘I want to find faith in you when I return for you!’ There are so many people that I need to be praying for, and I would do well to cry out to Him in faith every morning and every night. The words ‘day and night’ gripped my heart and reminded me of living with an attitude of praying without ceasing.
Every morning I pray with my wife for her day, my day and for our children. We also pray for certain people and situations that are on our hearts. When I pray for people according to His will, I’m confident that He hears me and that I will see answer to prayer. In these days, I am inspired to step up my prayer life, to be sensitive to the times I need to go to Him in prayer through the day, and to be carefully listening for HIs voice. He is faithful to answer prayer and to guide us in the way we need to serve.
Lord Jesus, help me to follow you fully in responding to a life of faith and prayer. I know that eternal things are at stake as I pray for people to be saved, delivered and healed. Thank you that you care about all the details in my life and that I can come to you with my concerns. I set my heart to keep praying and believing for great things for your people.
